Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command over a series of defamation allegations reported by veteran fuji musician Saheed Osupa.
Portable was apprehended on Sunday, April 13, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The arrest comes after a petition was filed by Osupa whose real name is Okunola Saheed accusing the singer of criminal defamation, making threats to his life, incitement, character assassination, and engaging in conduct likely to breach public peace.

According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, “In view of the weight of these allegations and the supporting evidence presented, the command secured a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin.”
She further disclosed that the arrest was conducted at approximately 7:25 p.m., after which Portable was transported to Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, for questioning.
“Upon his arrival, the suspect’s statement was taken in the presence of legal representatives from both parties,” Ejire-Adeyemi stated.
The statement further revealed that the charges are based on the alleged use of “abusive and offensive language” aimed at the Fuji legend across social media and other public platforms.
As of the time of reporting, Portable is still in police custody, with authorities confirming that preparations are in progress to formally arraign him in court.
This arrest adds to the list of legal troubles faced by the controversial artist, whose frequent public scandals have repeatedly drawn attention away from his music career.

However, Portable confirmed the arrest as he took to his Instagram story with a post appealling to Nigeria to help him beg Saheed Osupa to release him.
He said, “Make una help me beg Osupa I don’t have any issue with police na him say make dem come carry me.”
