Former House of Representatives Member, Honorable Olakunle Kazeem Salako, has praised the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government (AOLG) Executive Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Adewale Wasiu FCA, for his exceptional performance in just five months in office. Salako made the commendation during a visit to the ongoing facelift work at the Ota Primary Health Facility.
Describing the chairman's performance as "superlative," Salako noted that the local government has undergone significant transformations under Wasiu's leadership. "Garbage has been cleared, roads are clean, all gutters are being cleared, even the wheels are being cleared," he observed, highlighting the noticeable changes in the environment.
Salako attributed the success to Wasiu's effective leadership and teamwork, stating, "It's one thing to have a team, it's another thing to provide leadership for that team." He expressed optimism that the local government will continue to excel, citing the potential for increased revenue generation through improved infrastructure.
He advised the executive chairman to focus on infrastructural development and lighting up Ado-Odo/Ota LG, particularly in the commercial areas, to drive economic growth and boost socio economic activities in the area.
However, Salako also acknowledged the challenge of funding, emphasizing the need for the local government to boost its internally generated revenue (IGR) to implement its budget effectively. He believes that with proper funding, the government can address infrastructural deficits and further improve the economy.
Salako's assessment is a testament to the impact of good governance on the local government. His praise for Wasiu's leadership underscores the importance of effective governance in driving development and improving the quality of life for residents.
