Ado-Odo /Ota Local Government under the leadership of Hon Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, has sought for the partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners that will bring sustainable planning, efficient land use and infrastructural development to communities within the Local Government area.
The Council Boss, made this statement during the visit of the Ogun State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners to his office at the Local Government Secretariat. He expressed his gratitude to the Institute for their efforts at fostering developmental synergy with the Local Government, describing the visit as timely and strategic in the face of the growing urbanization challenges in the Council area. He reiterated his administration's openness to partnerships that will bring development to the people of Ado- Odo /Ota Local Government area.
Hon. Lawal Wasiu, requested the Institute to partner the Council through the Department of Works and Housing for proper planning of projects execution for the betterment of the people of the Council area.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman' of the Ogun State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, TPN Adefela Sogbesan, appreciated the Council Boss for his hospitality and equally stated the readiness of the institute to support the Local Government through technical guidance and collaborative project execution that align with national planning policies.
The former Ogun State Head of Service TPN Shokor Amope who was also part of the team from the institute, said that Ado -Odo /Ota Local Government is the most economically vibrant and oriented place in the entire southwest and urged Hon Lawal Adewale, FCA Wasiu not to relent at providing developmental and well planned infrastructures within the Council area.
The former Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic who is among the first set of Chairmen of the Institute, TPN kadiri Waheed commended the Local Government Boss for his on going developmental projects throughout the Council area. He however, pointed out that, the Institute can support the developmental goals of the Local Government and forster a stronger relationship between the institute and his administration in order to be able to deliver on his promises to the people of Ado- Odo/ Ota Local Government area.
The highlights of the visit, was the presentation of an Award for Excellence to Hon Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, and the tour of ongoing projects within the Secretariat and the annex.
The visit marks a significant step towards strengthening institutional collaboration, with a shared vision of promoting sustainable urban growth and elevating the planing standards in Ado -Odo /Ota Local Government.
