A lawmaker, who represents Agege Constituency I, Mudashiru Obasa, has been re-elected as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Obasa was re-elected on Monday after the resignation of Mojisola Meranda who stepped down as the Speaker of the House.
Obasa’s re-election followed the nomination of a former Majority Leader of the House, Noheem Adams, representing Eti-Osa Constituency 1.

Meranda, who represents Apapa Constituency I announced her resignation on Monday as lawmakers re-elected her as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Meranda said she resigned to protect the state assembly, adding that she is not a quitter.
