AOLG Secretariat Muslim Community Holds 15th Annual Ramadan Lecture |Omohglobalnews


Ado Odo Ota Local Government Secretariat Muslim Community recently held its 15th Annual Ramadan Lecture, themed "Importance of Ramadan and Good Character in Islam" at the Chief Nosiru Deinde Memorial Hall within the Council's Secretariat.


The Council Boss, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, highlighted the importance of promoting religious harmony and understanding among residents. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for His mercies and commended the  Planning Committee of the Ramadan lecture led by Comrade Muhammad Raobil Olukoya Ogunsiji on the success of the program. He encouraged Muslim faithfuls to embody the true spirit of Ramadan through acts of kindness and compassion. 


Hon. Lawal Wasiu, in his words," while in this holy month of Ramadan, we should  pray for development, peace, unity and stability of Ado Odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State and the Nation as a whole".






The Council's Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Junaid Wasiu Babatunde, FCA,  appreciated the Executive Chairman for creating an enabling environment for the success of the program. He extended his appreciation to the guest lecturer, Alhaji El-Imam Akinboyede Abdul Wasiu Adeniyi for his insightful teachings and urged the gathering to make good use of the lecture for the betterment of the Council area and society at large. 


The Chairman Planning Committee  of the Secretariat 15th Annual Ramadan Lecture, Comrade Muhammad Raobil Olukoya Ogunsiji ably represented by Comrade Ayoyemi Jamiu, expressed his appreciation to Almighty Allah and the Council Management, under the leadership of Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, for their steadfast support. He noted that for the past 15 years, staffers of  the Local Government have always come together at every Ramadan to purify their souls, discuss ways to improve their lives, and strengthen their commitment to Almighty Allah. He emphasized that, the gathering transcends religious diversity, uniting staff in prayer for the progress of the Council, the State, and the Nation.







The highlight of the program was an insightful lecture delivered by the esteemed guest lecturer, Alhaji El-Imam Akinboyede Abdulwasiu Adeniyi, on the topic "Importance of Ramadan and Good Character in Islam."


His lecture provided a deep understanding of Ramadan’s significance, emphasizing that it is a time for spiritual purification, self-discipline, and heightened devotion to Allah. He explained that fasting is not only about abstaining from food and drinks but also about developing patience, humility, and gratitude.


Furthermore, he stressed on good character as a fundamental part of Islam. He explained that true piety is reflected not just in worship but in one’s conduct towards others. He urged the audience to uphold values such as kindness, honesty, and compassion, not just during Ramadan but throughout their lives.




Through his thoughtful words, Alhaji El-Imam Akinboyede Abdulwasiu Adeniyi inspired attendees to embrace the lessons of Ramadan and integrate them into their daily lives, fostering a more righteous and harmonious society.
