In a significant step toward fostering collaboration between artisans and Ado Odo Ota Local Government, a delegation of artisans under the auspices of the Association of Artisans Ogun State Ado Odo Ota Local Government chapter, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Council area, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu FCA. The meeting held at the conference room of the Council area, underscored shared commitments to economic empowerment, cultural preservation, and inclusive development.
While welcoming the association, the Council boss in his words stated that "I am delighted to receive you all today, and I must commend your leadership for taking the initiative to engage with the local government. As artisans, you play a vital role in the economic development of our Council area and we recognize. As Government, we are committed to creating an enabling environment that will foster growth and prosperity for all. We will work closely with you to address the challenges faced by you and provide support where necessary, so that together, we can build a more prosperous and vibrant community".
Hon. Lawal Wasiu told the gathering that, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON has rightly advised that artisans at the local level should be engaged to partake in projects at various communities where necessary. He then assured the association of inclusiveness in government programs . He solicited for their support towards his administration so as to bring dividends of democracy to the yearnings of the people of the Council area.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman of the Association, Mr Okedeyi Moses Olayiwola, said that they were honored to visit the Council Chairman and his management for a better Ado Odo Ota Local Government. Our visit is aimed at strengthening the relationship between the artisans and the local government. "Our believe is that, by working together, we can identify areas of collaboration that will benefit both parties and ultimately drive economic growth in the Council area. Specifically, we are seeking support for our members in areas such as, government programs, training and retraining, engagement of local artisans in government projects and issues on levies. We are confident that with the support of the Council, we can create more enabling environment for artisans to thrive and contribute to the development of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.
The Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Junaid Babatunde Wasiu FCA, informed the gathering of the need to cooperate with the Council in the area of payment of Local Government levies as at when due for the betterment of the Council area. He advised them to report any form of illegalities on the part of revenue contractors to the management.
