AOLG Chairman Meets Security Operatives Assures on Maximum Support |Omohglobalnews



The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Hon Lawal Adewale Wasiu FCA has assured security operatives in the Council area of maximum support at combatting crime. He made this pledge during the inaugural Peace and Security  meeting with the security agencies at the local government Secretariat.


The Council Boss, identified cultism, robbery, odd street hawking, drug abuse, scavengers, illegal truck parkings and disobedience to road regulations and other vices are  major security challenges facing the local government area which call for Collaboration with all security agencies to support the administration to achieve a better and safer Ado Odo Ota Local Government.


The Chairman emphasized that security watch is not a one man job, it requires collective effort. He lamented on how roadside trading has been  causing traffic congestion in major areas like Tollgate , Ojuore, Oja Ota, Sango, Atan and promised to create conducive market environment for traders to occupy.  He added that, there are lots of lock-up shops and stores  available at Atan market, Oba T T Dada Market and other markets within the local government area that are yet to be occupied.

He also expressed concern about the high rate of drug abuse among youths and promised to support NDLEA on rehabilitation process.



Hon. Wasiu promised to establish a taskforce on enforcement and quick response to security issues, provide numbered reflective jackets for Okada, tricycle riders to ensure safety, accountability,  perfect monitoring during their operations on roads, in the garages and markets. The Chief security officer of the Local Government further promised to abolish illegal transport parks, address drug abuse and work with security agencies to ensure full compliance.

He solicited for compliance and teamwork to achieve peace and security in the Council area.


Hon. Wasiu, appreciated all security agencies which include : the Police;Navy; NSCDC;NDLEA; Amotekun; Immigration; DSS;SIB;CID;So-Safe Corps;TRACE;FRSC; NOA;tribal leaders; indigenous groups and Community leaders, for their presence and support. He promised to work with them to address the security challenges in the Council area.
