The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has revoked land allocations belonging to several prominent figures, including Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and 565 others.
This action follows the expiration of an extended grace period for the affected individuals to settle their Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills for plots located in Maitama II, Cadastral Zone A10, Abuja.
According to Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT Minister, 568 land allottees had their Right of Occupancy (R-of-O) withdrawn after failing to meet the payment deadline.

In early October 2024, a total of 3,273 were offered two weeks to pay their bills or lose their R-of-O titles, out of which 2,511 complied, leaving 762.
The 762 allottees were further allowed another grace of two weeks to pay, but as at January 15, this year, 12 days after the expiration of the weeks, only 194 paid, leaving 568.
In December 2024, Wike issued another two-week ultimatum to owners of the 762 plots of land in Maitama to pay for their C-of-O or risk final revocation.
