The Osiparapo Area Community Development Committee (CDC) held a general meeting at Adelt Event Centre on December 3, 2024, where Prince AbdulRasaq Onaolapo Olatunji, Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Zonal CDC, presented the community's needs to Hon. Lawal Wasiu. Onaolapo emphasized that the community has significant influence on the government and that their needs must be addressed to create a peaceful environment.
The community's challenges, including bad roads, security issues, community rate defaults, and late operations by consultants, were highlighted during the meeting. Hon. Wasiu was called upon to provide fair attention and equity to the community, which has supported and voted for him in the last local government election.
In response to the CDC's demands, Hon. Wasiu demonstrated his commitment to transparency and accountability. He assured the community that his government would not disappoint any CDC and would work to provide benefits based on their contributions to community rates. As the Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Hon. Wasiu has consistently shown his dedication to his constituents' welfare and development.
Hon. Wasiu's leadership skills were evident in his promise to invite the zonal CDC chairman to verify community rate details and ensure transparency in project execution. His dedication and hard work have earned him the trust and respect of many stakeholders, and he remains committed to addressing issues that will bring development to various communities in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.
During the meeting, Hon. Wasiu emphasized the importance of community demands, including community rates, empowerment for women, and boundary disputes. He assured the community that his government would work on boundary disputes and create empowerment programs for youth. Hon. Wasiu also promised to ensure the safety and security of community members by engaging security agencies and cooperating with the community through the ACDC.
Hon. Wasiu commitment to community development and willingness to work with community leaders, he is poised to make a positive impact on his constituents. As a trusted and tested leader, he has demonstrated his dedication to the welfare and development of his constituents, earning their trust and respect.
The meeting drew a large and diverse crowd, featuring prominent leaders from various Community Development Areas (CDAs), ACDC representatives, and executive members from different CDAs. Notably, Hon. Olayiwola Taiwo also graced the occasion with his presence.
