The Executive Chairman of Ado Odo Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu FCA, at a meeting with Ogun West Mechanized Farmers Union Ado Odo Ota Local Government chapter, emphasized the importance of boosting farm produce to combat food scarcity and enhance human capacity in the Council area.
The Council Boss, pledged the support of his administration to collaborate with the Union towards ensuring the development of agriculture and establishment of a farm settlement within the Council area. He also promised to look into their requests and to fashion a way for adequate grants to make their projects achievable for the benefit of the people of the Council area and the Nation as a whole.
Earlier, the Chairman of Ogun West Mechanized Farmers Union, Pastor Afolabi Moses, enumerated the challenges of the Union as funding, inadequate farmlands, and limitations in organising training and seminars among others. He sought for the assistance of the Council to partner with the Union so as to boost farm produce in the Council area. He assured the Council Boss of their unwavering support to his administration.
The Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Council, Mr. Kayode Kikisagbe FCPA, thanked the Council Boss for the various supports being given to farmers of the Council area. He called on the Union not to relent at boosting farm produce within the Council area.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of cat fishes to the Council Boss by the Union.
