The independent Online Chapel, Ota, has got Certificate of Recognition from the Chairman, Ogun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju. The presentation was officially given on Monday at Ado-Odo, Ota registry hall, under the watchful eyes of other state executives, which include the Vice Chairman, Comrade Abiodun Lawal, Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun and Treasurer, Comrade Idris Adelakun.
During the presentation, the chairman urged members to improve on their reporting, embrace professionalism and shun sensational reporting.
The Chairman and his team, also set up a four-man electoral committee for election of maiden executives of NUJ Independent Online Chapel, Ota, and directed that election must be conducted within three weeks.
The Electoral Committee members are Comrade Abiodun Lawal (Chairman), Comrade Kayode Taiwo, Comrade. Sam Popoola, and Comrade Idris Adelakun.
The chairman also beseeched the member to shun tribalism and nepotism in electing their leaders, stating that no professional body harbours such. He urged members to promote unity and cooperation among themselves. " state executives has no interest in whoever emerged as executives," he assured.
Lastly, he stressed that qualified members who satisfy the necessary qualifications as specified in the NUJ constitution can vote and be voted for during election of the executives.
