Ogun West Zonal Commander of Vehicle Inspection Service, Engr. Oluwatoyin Modupe Olugbenga, has again warned motoring public against driving on the highway without a valid drivers’ license.
She said it is unlawful to drive on the road without drivers’ license which regarded as a certified certificate for all drivers.
She made the assertion following the high rate at which drivers drive on the road without drivers’ license, saying this has been one of the factors causing crashes on the road.
“Valid drivers’ license is the only certificate that qualifies anyone to be called a driver all over the world.
“Things must be done in the proper way; carnages on our roads must be reduced to the barest minimum as it has been revealed that most drivers do not attend driving schools.
“For a fresh applicant to obtain a valid license, he must attend an approved driving school for 26 days, spend at least one hour for training daily, and must not drive until completion of the process and obtaining a temporary license.
“The same process was applicable for the professional drivers caught with fake license, they would not be allowed to drive until they obtained a temporary license,” Engr Olugbenga, added.
She stressed the warning to some drivers who derived joy in driving mechanical imbalance vehicles even without valid documents on the road to desist from such impunity, adding that whoever caught violating road traffic rules would made to face the consequences.
