Human rights lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Femi Falana has opened up about the activities of his musician son, who also is a lawyer, Folarin Falana popularly called, Falz Dah Bad Guy and his activities taking on governments the ways he does.
According to the senior Falana, who spoke at an event in Lagos recently explained that his son saw him being arrested severally like a criminal those days even as little as six years old, so he understands what his rights are and knows how to go about enforcing them without me.
Continuing, Femi Falana said: "One of these guys one day said, Falana talk to your son and tell him he should stop embarrassing the government and I said, which government? You mean that boy who is an adult? Can I give you his number so you can talk to him? But be careful because when that boy was growing up, I was being arrested from time to time. So, the only language he understood was detention, arrest and the rest of them.
Femi Falana says, "One day, when that boy was six, he asked his mother that Our teacher taught us that only criminals were arrested. Is my father a criminal? Why is he always being arrested? And the mother had to say that in Nigeria, under the military, only two sets of people were arrested, suspected criminals and Political criminals and political criminals are those who are out to expose the criminality of government, which is what you see going on today.
