The federal government says it is not in breach of the Apex court in relation to it’s naira swap policy
The Attorney General of the federation and minister of justice Abubakar Malami gave the position today while fielding questions during the weekly ministerial briefing at the presidential villa.
Malami notes that the issue remained subject to litigation.
The president had on Thursday 16th of February in a national broadcast directed the CBN to re-circulate the old 200 denomination of the naira, thereby extending the validity of the notes for another 60 days to April 10 2023.
This was despite the supreme court’s pronouncement which ruled that the old N1,000, N500 and N200 notes remain valid until it delivers judgment in the case filed by some states against the federal government.
