Court of Appeal as unanimously upholds Adeleke as Governor of Osun State, please disregard the earlier news reportage.
The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Friday set aside the judgement of the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal that annulled the victory of Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party during the July 16, 2022, Osun State governorship election.
The tribunal had annulled Adeleke’s victory and affirmed Gboyega Oyetola of All Progressives Congress as the authentic winner of the poll.
Fact of the Appeal
1. Governor Ademola Adeleke did not forge any certificate.
2. Oyetola and APC did not prove any overvoting.
3. Oyetola's witness is not an expert and his testimony barren.
4. A #500,000 fine has been mandated on Oyetola for payment in favour of the Appellant.
Finally, the election of July 16th stands and remains valid, therefore, Senator Ademola Adeleke is the rightful Governor of Osun State.
All the 3 Judges were in unison on the verdict. This is victory for Democracy.
